Located in Jangchung-dong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, Jangchung Gymnasium is the first indoor multi-purpose stadium built in Korea, opened on February 1, 1963. The gymnasium hosts various events including domestic and international sports competitions, international contests, concerts, and cultural performances such as madangnori (traditional outdoor plays). The exterior of the gymnasium is circular with a domed roof. The circular court inside allows for volleyball, basketball, and handball games, with the main seating, lower movable seats, and upper seats arranged around the court to focus attention on the center. The seating layout ensures no visual blind spots based on seat location.
