Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Yongchu Valley, the third of Gapyeong's Nine Scenic Views, originates from Kalbongsan Mountain (900m) and flows as if embracing Oknyeobong Peak. Over 24km, nine scenic wonders unfold: Waryongchu, Musongam, Gosiltan, Ilsadae, Chuwoldam, Gwonyuyeon, Nongwon-gye, and others. Hence, it is also called Okgyegugok or Yongchugugok.
Yongchu Valley features Yongchu Falls, 5m high, with a legend that a dragon soared into the sky here, creating nine bends of picturesque scenery. Additionally, heading northeast from Yeoninsan Mountain leads to Buk-myeon Baekdun-ri, and northwest to Mairi, offering famous hiking trails that attract many climbers.
