Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Myeongji Valley is a valley that flows down long to the east from the summit of Myeongjisan Mountain (1,267m), the second highest mountain in Gyeonggi Province. Starting from the Myeongjisan County Park ticket office, it passes through Seungcheonsa Temple and reaches Myeongji Waterfall. The water is clear and abundant, and there are many large and small pools (so). As you go up along the valley, you can see streams flowing coolly between rock formations, and large and small waterfalls appear in succession. About 50 minutes up from the valley entrance, the valley deepens and you can see Myeongji Waterfall in the middle of the valley. Myeongji Waterfall, 7-8m high, creates a spectacular view together with autumn foliage, and in summer it is the best of Myeongji Valley as a summer resort that cools down the scorching heat.
