Paju Yulgok Wetland Park

Yulgok Wetland Park in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, is a place where local residents planted and tended flowers in a retention basin originally built as a disaster prevention facility. In spring, rapeseed flowers bloom, and in autumn, cosmos flowers bloom, making it a beautiful spot. Yulgok Wetland Park evokes the nostalgic rural scenery of one's hometown, with a wide flower field, a lotus colony blooming in the wetland, reeds, a thatched house with old farming tools, tall sotdae (traditional Korean totem poles), amusingly crooked jangseung (traditional Korean totem poles), and a waterwheel, all creating a warm and affectionate atmosphere. The fountain that sprays cool water from the lotus colony is impressive, and there are rest areas throughout, such as a thatched-roof arbor and a swing, making it a nice place to take a break.
