Why travelers stop here
Yeoju City Phone Museum opened as a public specialized museum of Yeoju City on April 26, 2016. Communication methods that began with small signals have evolved with technology through the flow of time, and today, under the name of smartphones, they are deeply embedded in our daily lives. The Greek word 'Phone,' meaning 'voice,' has become 'Telephone,' meaning 'distant voice,' and is now a symbol of civilization connecting people to people.
Yeoju City Phone Museum is a space designed not only to exhibit various telephone artifacts and materials that have accompanied changes in communication technology but also to allow citizens and visitors to directly experience and understand the history of communication development. In particular, it is located in Yeoju, where the spirit of King Sejong the Great, who valued communication and science, resides, adding historical and cultural significance. Like the creative thinking behind the creation of Hunminjeongeum, the museum aims to shed light on modern communication methods that have developed through the telephone.
