Why travelers stop here
As the first chocolate museum in an inland region, it opened in April 2018 in Daeseong-ri, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. It is not just a simple chocolate experience center but strives to spread a genuine and proper chocolate culture in Korea. The experience programs include ancient primitive manufacturing methods, processing, and making your own chocolate, among various others. Currently, the experience programs consist of family and individual programs, with special programs such as premium chocolate making and seasonal programs. Additionally, as an institution with a certified youth training activity program, it offers various tailored programs for kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students for experiential learning. Furthermore, to foster a deeper chocolate culture and train chocolatiers, a chocolate academy is regularly opened with hobby, professional, and startup classes according to purpose. In the exhibition hall from the first floor to the second floor entrance, various information and artifacts about chocolate are displayed, ranging from knowledge about cacao trees, chocolate processing methods, the history of chocolate, to ancient knowledge and relics about chocolate. Thus, the Korea Chocolate Research Institute Museum is a complex cultural space where you can see and learn all the manufacturing processes and ancient history of chocolate at a glance, and enjoy knowledge and experiences about cacao and chocolate together.
