Hadaewon Public Market

As a representative wholesale market of Seongnam that encompasses the southeastern part of Gyeonggi Province, it is located on Maki-ro, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si. It opened in November 1991, combining a single-story temporary building (7 blocks) with 70 stores and 23 stores across the street. Each store sells items such as vegetables, fruits, seafood, and food ingredients, which are brought in by large trucks from 5 a.m., at wholesale prices to government offices, welfare centers, supermarkets, etc. It also sells each item at low prices to individual customers visiting the market. In 2017, the 26th year since the establishment of the Hadaewon Wholesale Market, Seongnam-si demolished the old single-story temporary buildings and built two new two-story buildings on the site, reborn as a public market with modern facilities.
