Imdang-dong Catholic Church

Introduction Imdang-dong Catholic Church is a church located on Imyeong-ro, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do. It has been designated as a modern cultural heritage of the Republic of Korea, and many churches such as Okcheon-dong Catholic Church and Noam-dong Catholic Church have branched out from here, making it known as the center of Catholicism in the Yeongdong region. Although the windows, roof, and floor have been repaired several times, the exterior, including the bell tower at the center of the front, has maintained its original appearance from the time of construction, and the decorations are also unique, which adds to its value. Imdang-dong Catholic Church became famous as a filming location for the drama 'Mr. Sunshine.' It appeared as the place where the character Kudo Hina visits to meet her mother. Because the original exterior from the time of construction has been preserved, its cultural heritage value was recognized, and on February 19, 2010, it was designated as Registered Cultural Heritage No. 457.
