Located in Dangye-dong, Wonju-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Dangye Rose Park is an urban neighborhood park created during the development of the Dangye housing district. To commemorate the integration of Wonju City and the county in 1995, approximately 30 varieties and 4,000 rose bushes, the city flower, were planted in 1997, establishing Rose Park. The total area is 15,162 square meters, and remodeling was completed ahead of the 20th Rose Festival in 2019. The park features various amenities including a rose garden, clock tower, wall fountain, outdoor stage, walking paths, parking lot, pergola, exercise equipment, and restrooms. The Rose Festival is held every year from late May to early June, coinciding with the rose blooming season.
