Gongjaksan Ecological Forest is a representative recreational facility of Hongcheon-gun, established in 2009 in San 4-beonji, Deokchi-ri, Dong-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, covering an area of 163 hectares. The forest is famous for being a pleasant walking place for people of all ages, featuring an ecological pond integrated with the Buddhist culture of the thousand-year-old Sutaesa Temple, a native plant garden, an oxygen trail, healing rest areas, and various trees including native species. The oxygen trail course at Gongjaksan Ecological Forest has a total length of 3.8 km and takes about 1 hour for adults. The trail is mostly flat with few uphill sections, and along the way, visitors can see a pond full of lotus flowers and a successor tree of the Boeun Jeongipumsong pine. At the entrance of the ecological forest, there is an Ecological Forest Education Center equipped with exhibition halls, educational rooms, and information search stations, which are used by visitors and for group experiential learning.
