Dutasan Canyon Macheonru

On June 10, 2021, the new scenic beauty of Dutasan, Dutasan Canyon Macheonru, revealed its beautiful form to the world. The section from Bettle Rock in Dutasan to Bakdalryeong was difficult for ordinary hikers to access due to its rugged terrain, but Donghae City and the Eastern Regional Forest Service have developed a safe 5.34 km hiking trail course connecting Bettle Rock, Sudogol, Bakdalryeong, and Yongchu Falls. The nature-friendly trail features safety ropes and stairs made of materials that do not damage nature. An observation deck has also been built, allowing visitors to take in the sky-high canyon Macheonru at a glance. In particular, the uniquely shaped rock resembling a human profile captures the attention of hikers. The twin waterfalls and Yongchu Falls, flowing majestically between lush green trees and clear blue skies, are as beautiful as a painting. The Dutasanseong Fortress, where young righteous army soldiers fought against Japanese forces, Baekgom Rock, and the pine trees that add a noble atmosphere are also sights not to be missed.
