Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Straddling Bukpyeong-myeon, Jeongseon-gun and Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Baekseok Waterfall is an artificial waterfall that descends from the summit of Baekseokbong Peak at an elevation of 1,170m. It was created by laying a pipe about 600m long to draw water from the surrounding valley and drop it into the Odaeseon Stream, with a waterfall height of 116m. Since the waterfall was made by diverting the valley's water flow rather than forcibly pumping water, it has a more natural appearance and flows year-round. The sight of the waterfall falling from a height of over 100m is spectacular. The waterfall can also be viewed from the Baekseok Waterfall Rest Area on National Route 59.
