Why travelers stop here
To the south of Yongyu Island, small islands such as Somuui Island, Silmi Island, Jamjin Island, and Saryeom Island are gathered around the large island Daemuui Island. Among them, Somuui Island is loved as a walking destination because of the Muui Badanuri-gil, a trail that circles the island. Somuui Island is connected to Daemuui Island by a pedestrian bridge, so you must walk to enter.
Muui Badanuri-gil is a trail about 2.5 km long, consisting of a total of 8 sections. After passing Section 1, the Somuui Island Pedestrian Bridge Path, the following paths are connected clockwise: Maju Boneun-gil, Ttemuri-gil, Bucheokkaemi-gil, Mongyeo Beach-gil, Myeongsa Beach-gil, Haenyeo Island-gil, and Kijageun Sonamu-gil. Ttemuri-gil is good for enjoying clean natural ecology, and Bucheokkaemi-gil is good for appreciating beautiful views. Entering Mongyeo Beach-gil, you can take a break at a small beach. This place is also known as a fishing spot. Myeongsa Beach-gil, which includes a beach where former President Park Chung-hee and his family enjoyed vacations, Haenyeo Island-gil, which offers a view of Haenyeo Island across the sea, and Kijageun Sonamu-gil, which walks through a pine forest, all provide unique impressions. These three sections continue along the mountain, but you can also choose a trail that walks along the coast below. When the tide goes out, you can walk to Janggun Rock, one of the Nuri 8 Scenic Spots.
