Myeongjisan County Park

Myeongjisan County Park is a county park designated on Myeongjisan Mountain, spanning across Buk-myeon and Jojong-myeon in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. At the entrance, there is an Ecological Exploration Learning Center where visitors can learn about medicinal herbs, rare plants, and wildflowers. The park also features a firefly cave, insect experiences, and exhibits of plants and fish, offering various ecological experiences. For hiking courses, there is a route starting from the Baekdun-ri terminal, passing through Myeongjisan 2nd Peak to the summit, then descending through Seungcheonsa Temple to Ikgeun-ri, taking about 6 hours. A second hiking trail starts from the Baekdun-ri bus terminal, goes through Ajaebi Hill and Myeongji 3rd Peak to the summit, covering about 6.5 km and taking approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes. In October 2019, the park completed the installation of the Sky Cloud Bridge No. 1 and No. 2 within the park. Crossing the cloud bridge offers a thrill different from hiking. In spring, azaleas bloom abundantly in various places, and the 28 km-long Myeongji Valley serves as a summer resort for travelers from the metropolitan area. The autumn foliage is particularly beautiful along the Ikgeun-ri Valley, Seungcheonsa Temple, and Myeongji Waterfall sections, due to the abundant growth of broadleaf trees. The course from Sangpan-ri on the west side of Myeongjisan Mountain to the summit and then descending to Ikgeun-ri on the east side is a hiking course suitable even for beginners.
