Why travelers stop here
The Suwonsan Summit Observatory, installed at an elevation of 520m on Suwonsan Mountain, offers an excellent panoramic view of Pocheon city. It was established to provide a resting space for vehicle users and citizens who visit this area. The observatory's design is a sculpture inspired by the Natural Monument 'Bubusong' (a pair of pine trees). The two central pillars represent the upper branches of the Bubusong, with a maximum height of 9.5m and a capacity of 50 people, harmonizing with the natural landscape. Two shade pavilions are also shaped like mushrooms, a local specialty of Pocheon. Surrounding the area, a wall modeled after the Banwolseong fortress site has been installed, creating a small resting space where history and culture come together.
