Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
When you visit Yoseonam Pothole, you can see round holes carved into the rock. This type of terrain is called a pothole. As a stream flows, sand and gravel enter small cracks in the bottom and swirl with the rapidly flowing water, carving out the rock. Potholes are mainly formed in hard rocks such as sandstone or granite, and this area consists of biotite granite. Large potholes can reach several meters in diameter and depth. Most potholes take the shape of a deep jar.
