Why travelers stop here
Munam 2-ri Beach is a beach formed with a crescent-shaped coastline. It is wide and shallow, making it enjoyable for families with children. Since its opening in 1991, the beach and sandy shore have been operated every summer. Nearby Munam Port offers fresh raw fish. At the end of the beach, along the coastline, there is Neungpadae, a scenic spot of oddly shaped rocks and cliffs. In the past, it was an island, but now it is part of a tombolo connected to the mainland. Neungpa means walking on rapid currents or waves, referring to a beautiful woman's graceful walk. It is said that the name Neungpadae was given after seeing the beautiful sight of waves crashing against the oddly shaped rocks on the shore. The underwater scenery is beautiful, making it a famous spot for snorkeling and skin scuba diving, and it is also known as a filming location for the K-pop group BTS's music video.
