Chilbong Recreation Area

Chilbong Recreation Area is a riverside park that stretches long across Yonggok-ri and Sanhyeon-ri, Hojeo-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do. It is located in the upper reaches of the Seomgang River and is called Chilbong because it has seven peaks. The water is not deep and is clear, making it good for enjoying water play, and there is a wide expanse of land suitable for camping. The valley water is so clear that fish can occasionally be seen. Clear streams flow down beneath rocky peaks of奇特 rocks and strange stones, and the seven peaks form a spectacular scenery as if a folding screen is set up. A little further up, there is a pine tree colony, making it perfect for pitching a tent and camping underneath. The shallow water depth, sandy riverbed, and calm water surface are suitable for children to enjoy water play.
