Why travelers stop here
Guryong Falls is named after nine large and small waterfalls that are connected in a 3km section in the middle of the Cheonghak-dong Sogeumgang valley, and it is said that nine dragons that came out of Guryong Lake each took one waterfall. In particular, the 6th waterfall is called Gunja Falls because it is the quietest and most majestic. 2km away from the waterfall, there is Manmulsang, which has various shapes and, as its name suggests, has ten thousand shapes. These rocks, called by various names such as Geoin-sang, Gwimyeon-am, Iwol-am, and Chotdae-seok, captivate everyone's heart with their various forms.
It is said that Sogeumgang, where Guryong Falls is located, began to become known to the world through Yulgok Yi I's 'Cheonghaksan-gi'. The 21km from Sogeumgang to Odaesan Woljeongsa Temple is a breathtakingly beautiful stretch. In addition, at the summit, there remains Amasanseong Fortress, which is said to have been built by Prince Maui to relieve his sorrow over the fall of the kingdom, and it is worth visiting together. The fantastic rocks and grand waterfalls harmonize with the dense forest, creating outstanding scenery, and with a plan to connect it with Gyeongpodae, it is becoming a major tourist destination on the east coast.
