Why travelers stop here
Geumgangsa Temple is a temple founded in 1964 by Monk Jeonggak in Sogeumgang Mureung Valley. With beautiful bizarre rocks and clear streams in the surrounding scenery, it has become a must-visit course for tourists coming to this area. In particular, across from Geumgangsa Temple is Sikdangam Rock, which holds a legend that about a thousand soldiers sat down to eat lunch there, and you can also see Samseonbong Peak with its three oddly rising peaks, making it one of the places tourists on the Sogeumgang trail always stop by. The hiking course from the Sogeumgang parking lot to Geumgangsa Temple, Guryongpokpo Falls, Manmulsang, Noinbong Peak, and Jingogae Pass is famous, and around the temple are Woljeongsa Temple, Sangwonsa Temple, Yeongok Beach, Jumunjin Beach, and Gyeongpo Provincial Park.
