Why travelers stop here
Chuncheon Gangeondeok Village is surrounded by the Hongcheon River on three sides—east, south, and west—so it is sometimes called an inland island. In the past, villagers made wooden boats and sailed on the Hongcheon River from summer to autumn to connect with Hongcheon County, and in spring and winter, they built brushwood bridges to sustain their lives. Chuncheon Gangeondeok Village is a representative rural theme village in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, visited by many tourists each year for rural experiences. It offers a variety of experiential events, as well as abundant activities, sights, and foods, including the local specialties Hongcheon pine nuts and Hongcheon River catfish spicy stew.
