Baekdo Port (Munam 1-ri Port)

Munam-ri has two ports. Munam Port, named after the village, and Munam 1-ri Port, called Baekdo Port due to white rocks, are located side by side with Baekdo Beach in between. The ports of Munam-ri each boast their own unique charm, but if you were to pick the most impressive port, it would be Munam 1-ri Port, Baekdo Port. The breakwater and lighthouse embrace the port cozily like a village, creating a warm and friendly scenery unique to Baekdo Port. There are two white rock islands covered in seagull droppings near the port, which is why it is called Baekdo Port, making the origin of its name interesting. Especially for those who enjoy skin scuba diving, Baekdo Port is a top exploration site, and those who have been underwater at Baekdo Port praise the scenery, comparing it to the landscape of Ulsanbawi Rock in Seoraksan Mountain. Underwater, you can observe various coral reefs, as well as species such as sea squirts, sea anemones, and rockfish. In particular, the scallops farmed at Baekdo Port are so delicious that people come specifically for them. You can purchase large, plump scallops directly at the scallop wholesale market, or have them grilled at nearby restaurants.
