Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located in Magok-ri, with the Jangrak Mountain Range to the west and the Hongcheon River to the east, Baebawi Canoe Village has created a waterfront park along the river and hosts canoe competitions every year, aspiring to be the nation's best leisure experience village. Two rocks on the riverside cliff resemble a large sailing ship, and the pine trees atop the rocks look like the ship's sails, giving the village its name 'Baebawi' (Boat Rock). Trekking and camping are also possible along the Hongcheon River, making it a popular destination in the summer.
